Color Obsession: Salmon

I've been seriously obsessing over this salmon color lately. It has such a soft feminine touch that I cannot get enough of, and I want to use it in everything. Every once in awhile a color palette makes my heart go wild. It changes quite often, but sometimes it sticks.

100 Days of UI Design (Days 1-10)

I've been trying to challenge myself this year to broaden my design skills beyond print design. While a lot of the basic concepts can be carried over to web/mobile design, I hadn't really put time aside to try and learn it. I'd been seeing the 100 days of UI design on dribbble (which is my go to for inspiration after Pinterest), and decided to look into it. The challenge was self-explanatory, for the next 100 days, not including weekends, a prompt would be emailed to me and it needed to be completed by the end of the day. I also took it a step further and downloaded Sketch since I learned it's becoming one of the main platforms in the Mac community for UI design. So without further ado here are my first 10 designs.

HELLO AGAIN.

Wow, it's been over two years since I've tried writing in this once very uninspired blog. Back at the end of 2013, I decided to take a short hiatus that turned into a long one. However, in the last couple of years I never felt the urgency to continue writing. My Pinterest board filled with pretty inspiration, but I never had the urgency to create content. To be honest, I just didn't feel like I could compare to a lot of bloggers that I look up to and what they post. Comparing really hindered my creativity, and I allowed it to get the best of me.

But enough with the pity party.

The last two years have been amazing. Shortly after the start of my hiatus I met an amazing french man while he was living in Los Angeles. Since then he moved back to France to finish his master's degree, then to Canada to work at a start up. Because of that, in the last year I've been able to travel to France twice, and Canada once. Yes the long distance sucks, but the stamps on my passport are so worth it (Plus, as I mentioned before he's pretty amazing too). We'll be celebrating our two year anniversary next month.

I've also had the ability to work on quite a few projects that I'm looking forward to sharing with you soon (including a wedding suite where the bride was a dream to work with, think Pride and Prejudice).

I'm still not quite sure where this blog will go, or the content I'll put out. I have some ideas so we'll see how that goes.

Tuesday Tunesday 16 / Ways to Go

I am so blissfully excited tonight. I've been having a rough day and just really trying to perk myself up by just keeping myself occupied. I was even more bummed because my epic plans of visiting my best friend in San Francisco on New Years Eve had fallen through for various reasons. Fast forward, when my brothers got home from rehearsal they came into my room (where I was waiting for my laptop to stop crashing so I could get some work done) and said they got me an early christmas present. They purchased my roundtrip ticket to spend New Year's with my best friend. I am on cloud 9. And while not everything is super fine in life right now, it's pretty awesome to be expecting a fabulous night with my best friend.

Anywho, I know it's been awhile since I posted a playlist and to be honest this has been sitting there forever. I've just been super busy on Tuesday's. That being said, I will no longer have a set day for my playlists. Just post them sporadically when I have content (and time for that matter). Without further ado, this weeks playlist has just the right amount of fast and slow beats and can make your day instantly better. At least in my opinion.

You Are More Than Just A Dream

Hey guys!

So it's been awhile since I made an iphone/samsung case for my store, but I finally got around to making one this week. Inspired by Fitz and the Tantrums song "Out of my League" which I was obsessed with. You can pick this beauty up at my redbubble store or any of the other designs I have up. 

Also, can you believe Christmas is like 11 days away?! I've gotten nothing done, I'm a horrible human being.

Little Miss Sunshine has always been one of my favorite movies. I'm not sure what it is about it, but it always gets me. Or maybe it's just this quote that is standing out to me most tonight. As the new year is quickly approaching seemingly out of no where i'm beginning to really think about what I wanna do with my life and this business of mine. I gotta admit this post was sitting inside my drafts folder for about a week while I skillfully avoided it. See, as a creative I have never been confident in the work I choose to show the world (I believe I wrote about this before, but whatever). And when it all comes down to it, the only person I should be trying to impress is myself. Yes, I still do have to appeal to the masses but i'm not going to appeal to the masses if i'm putting out crap work. When you do work you love, people can see it. And yes they will still criticize the hell out of it, but I will still love it. So, that being said. Choose what you wanna do in life, be passionate about it, And f*ck the rest.

Hey guys!

So it's been ages since I posted last. And well, things have been hectic. Well more chaotic if anything. I've actually had this playlist sitting here for awhile, but didn't make the time to do the artwork then I got caught up going to meetings on tuesdays. So right now has been my only time to post. It's exhausting. So this weeks mix literally started coming to be like a month ago, and has just become this weird eclectic mix of randomness. I hope you enjoy it.
